Public Speaking is a very powerful tool and one which we should all endeavour to add to our tool box, over the years people have used public speaking as a vital means of communication. The Greek leader Pericles said more than 2,500 years ago that "One who forms a judgement on any point but cannot explain it clearly might as well never have thought at all on the subject". As the name implies it is a way of making our ideas, opinions and motives public and influencing other people around us. Modern times have seen many great women and men around the globe whom have been powerful public speakers, they have mastered the "The Art of Public Speaking" and their great public speaking skills have been used to influence and spread their ideas around the globe. In the United States the list includes Franklin Roosevelt, Billy Gtaham, Cesar Chavez,Martin Luther King, Jesse Jackson and Elizabeth Dole. In other countries we see the power of public speaking employed by such people as former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, South African Leader Nelson Mandela, and the Late Nigerian Leader Obafemi Awolowo.
